1. ACLS for Healthcare Providers  Renewal (April 10, 2010 & April 17, 2010).

Pre-Course registration with  payment (required) to confirm your registration in this course. Current BLS required, but BLS training offered during class.

Introduction: The Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Providers Course is designed for healthcare providers who either direct or participate in the resuscitation of a patient, whether in or out of hospitals. In this course you will enhance your skills in treatment of arrest and peri-arrest patients through active participation in a series of simulated cardiopulmonary cases. These simulations are designed to reinforce important concepts, including

  • Identification and treatment of medical conditions that place the patient at risk for cardiac arrest.
  • The Basic Life Support (BLS) Primary Survey.
  • The ACLS Second Survey
  • ACLS algorithms
  • Effective resuscitation team dynamics

Audience: For healthcare providers, EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses, and respiratory therapists who must have a credentialed card documenting successful completion of a ACLS course.

The goal of the ACLS Providers Course is to improve the quality of care provided to the adult victim of cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergencies.

1.BLS for Healthcare Providers

Description: The BLS for Healthcare Providers Course covers core material such as adult and pediatric CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag mask), foreign-body airway obstruction, and AED.

2. Heartsaver AED

Description: The Heartsaver AED course teaches CPR, AED use, relief of choking in adults and children, and infant CPR and relief of choking, as well as use of barrier devices for all ages.

  • Adult/Child CPR with Mask and Choking
  • Adult/Child AED

Optional:

  • Infant CPR with Mask and Choking

Audience: For those who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements.

3. Heartsaver CPR

Description: The Heartsaver CPR course teaches CPR and relief of choking in adults and children, and infant CPR and relief of choking, as well as use of barrier devices for all ages

4. Heartsaver First Aid

Description: The Heartsaver First Aid course teaches how to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Course content includes general principles, medical emergencies, and injury emergencies. Optional topics include CPR and AED, and environmental emergencies

  • Adult First Aid (Only)

Optional:

  • Environmental Emergencies
  • Adult/Child CPR with Mask
  • Adult/Child AED
  • Infant CPR with Mask

Audience: For those who have a duty to respond to a first aid or cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements.

5. Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid

Description: The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid course teaches how to manage illness and injuries in a child in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Topics include first aid basics, medical emergencies, injury emergencies, environmental emergencies, optional first aid topics, and CPR and AED.

Audience: For those involved in child care who have a duty to respond to a first aid emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements, such as child care workers, teachers, foster care workers, camp counselors, youth organizations, and coaches for children’s sports organizations.

6. Family & Friends CPR

Description: The Family & Friends CPR program teaches how to perform CPR in adults, children, or infants and how to help an adult, child, or infant who is choking.

Modules:

  • Adult/Child CPR and Choking

Optional:

  • Infant CPR and Choking

Audience: Family members, friends and members of the general community who want to learn CPR but do not need a course completion card. This course also can be a non-credentialed option for middle- and high-school students.

7. Family & Friends First Aid for Children

Description: The Family & Friends First Aid for Children program teaches how to manage illness and injuries in a child for the first few minutes until professional help arrives. This program covers such topics as preventing injuries, recognizing and treating basic first aid emergencies, and relief of choking in infants and children.

Modules: Child First Aid and Environmental Emergencies

Audience: For those caring for infants and children, such as family members, babysitters, and other providing in-home care, who want basic first aid information but who do not need a credentialed completion card.

8. Heartsaver CPR in Schools

Description: The Heartsaver CPR in Schools Course, tailored to middle- and high-school students, teaches CPR and AED use, relief of choking in adults and children, and infant CPR and relief of choking.
